More Pictures of the Pearl 9100 Emerge

pearl9100tech 234x300 More Pictures of the Pearl 9100 Emerge There are a lot of current BlackBerry Pearl device owners out there that have been asking me when they will be seeing the next generation of there device. I know there are a lot of people who really love the Pearl form factor. I will have to admit, I was never a big fan of them however, but when I saw the pictures that berryReview got their hands on of the new Pearl 9100, I am kind excited to see this device be announced. No word on when it will be released. I am thinking sometime around WES 2010 which is at the end of April. Hope we see it sooner than that. Check out these pictures from BerryReview.com.

Rumor: Black and Pink BlackBerry Pearl 9100 Coming to TELUS

Friday has been pretty packed with rumors flying around so this week’s roundup should be fun. The latest rumor about the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 is that it’s coming to TELUS in both black and pink. Nothing too shocking about the rumor and it’s probably going to turn out true, but it’s a good thing for TELUS customers to know. I know a lot of guys who are pearl users but you can’t deny that a Pearl 9100 in pink is going to be awesome for the teenage girl market.

BlackBerry Pearl 9100 to Come With Full Keyboard?!?

Pearl 9100 QWERTY Keyboard This came out of left field. Al over at CIO.com spotted a replacement keyboard from TrueSupplier for RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry Pearl 9100 which shows a full keyboard labeled "OEM Blackberry Pearl 9100 Keyboard Keypad Black." Now this has started a whole flurry on the web since regular Pearl devices all come with a condensed two letters on each key SureType keyboard.

Kevin over @CrackBerry has managed to get some confirmation that the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 will actually come in two models. One with a full QWERTY keyboard and one with SureType. Personally I already find it hard enough to hit the keys reliably on the Bold 9700 compared to the spacious Bold 9000. I wonder what typing on a even narrower device will be like. On the other hand this would solve one of the biggest annoyances with the Pearl line which is the condensed SureType keyboard with no shortcuts.

What do you think? Would you get a Pearl 9100 with a full keyboard?

BlackBerry Pearl 9100 (Stratus) OS 5.0.0.483 Leaked!

We've once again been blessed with an OS for an unreleased device. This time around it is the upcoming BlackBerry Pearl 9100 aka Stratus. This is not a service OS, and therefore can be booted up using Desktop Manager. For those who are lucky enough to own one a BlackBerry Stratus you should find this beta OS to be a nice build.

For those who may be unfamiliar with what the Pearl 9100 will be - it is the next generation Pearl (obviously). It will sport a nice trackpad and be sleek and sexy as the Bold 9700 and Storm2. We've already discussed it's exact specs, which you may find as a nice read.

BlackBerry Pearl 9100 To Support 802.11n WiFi?

The other day Boy Genius posted that he heard from one of his solid connects that the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 has seen a little revision change since we last heard some specs on it. The change, was that of 802.11n WiFi capability being added to next gen Suretype BlackBerry smartphone.

We're going to toss some gas on that fire as well as I have done some digging around and found the above .rdf profile for the BlackBerry Pearl 9100. That's not to say it will show up in the final revision, but Research In Motion notes the files with the WiFi radio in the title and well, there is no 9100_802.11g/b to be found at this time. So does anyone actually need or want 802.11n on their BlackBerry smartphone to make this feature?

BlackBerry Pearl 9100 Stratus available for pre-order

blackberry_pearl_9100_preorder

Mac over at PocketBerry spotted a pre-order BlackBerry Pearl 9100. Generally, pre-release devices will get out to ISVs around 6 weeks before the device actually launches. This gives them enough time to port their software so it will be ready once the device hits the market. That’s about the same time that we start seeing leaks hit the blogs. It’s also around this time that a lot of sites like PureMobile will list the device as available for pre-order, because they might get a few in stock, or they’ll just build up orders for when the device hits the market.

Personally, I wouldn’t go for any of these sites. Just wait until it hits your carrier and you might be able to leverage an upgrade plan to get it cheap.
