Verizon Releases OS 5.0.0.607 for the BlackBerry Storm2 9550

Lately Verizon has been busy releasing OS updates for their BlackBerry devices and Monday night Verizon released an OS 5.0.0.607 for the BlackBerry Storm2 9550. After installing the update I have notice better battery life, and an updated voice dial feature. This is must have update for any Storm2 users

Official OS: BlackBerry Storm2 9550 Gets 5.0.0.517 Courtesy Of Sasktel

BlackBerry Storm2 9550 users can get the latest and greatest in way of an official OS from Sasktel Wireless. The official build comes in as 5.0.0.517 and there is no word currently on build quality/fixes or bugs. We have been through this a few times together now, leave us a comment if you find anything worth mentioning.

BlackBerry Storm2 9550 OS 5.0.0.451 Found Online

Looks like Storm users are getting some more love. Thanks to BBLeaks, BlackBerry Storm2 9550 users now have OS 5.0.0.451 leaked. No idea what is added in this leak but it is worth checking out if you like living on the bleeding edge.

Gradually more and more carriers are releasing official 5.0 OS for their BlackBerry devices. Vodafone UK has released the OS 5.0.0.436 for the BlackBerry Storm2. Even though it’s official release remember to back up your user data before upgrading OS on BlackBerry.

BlackBerry Storm2 9520 OS 5.0.0.402 Leaked!

So we just posted an image that was sent to us showing the latest RIM OS build for the Storm2 9520 was OS v.5.0.0.385, which we noted was actually old (despite it hasn't leaked). We are happy to leak OS 5.0.0.402! It will definitely NOT work on Vodafone, unless removing the vendor id works. Enjoy!

BlackBerry Storm 2 for Enterprise Use Review

The BlackBerry Storm 2 has arrived to try and save the BlackBerry touch screen reputation after a pretty disastrous Storm 1 entrance last year. I used a Storm 1 and can safely say that while I'm a huge fan of Research In Motion 's (RIM) BlackBerry products (I've been a user since 2000), I was excited to see how RIM would jump into the touch screen Smartphone ring, and then immediately disappointed at the product I was holding in my hands.



It was laggy, buggy, kludgy, and the whole having to click the screen paradigm combined to make me feel like hurling it at the wall many times.



The BlackBerry Storm 2 is much better in many ways. It doesn't lag, it has fewer bugs, and typing doesn't feel as kludgly as before. You still have to click the screen, but even that has improved drastically.



So the question is, can this new improved touch screen BlackBerry survive in the corporate world? Can it handle the day-to-day work use and even enhance your existing BlackBerry experience? Finally, does it look professional enough to carry into the boardroom or courtroom?
