The Top 20 Free Apps for BlackBerrys

The number-one smartphone platform in the US, BlackBerries had apps years before the iPhone was a twinkle in Steve Jobs's eye. What BlackBerries have never had, though, is an easy way to discover and install those apps.

Some of them are available on BlackBerry App World, which you can download onto any Berry by sending your mobile browser to www.blackberry.com/appworld. Some of them are available through the independent store GetJar, at getjar.com. Some are only downloadable from developers' Web sites. So you need to do a bit more digging to find great BlackBerry apps than you need to for, say, iPhone or Android apps. That said, we've found some good, free apps for almost every recent BlackBerry.
