How to Install a BlackBerry CD Onto a Windows Vista Computer

Every BlackBerry smartphone purchased new in the box comes with the BlackBerry Desktop Manager installation CD. The manufacturer of the BlackBerry, Research In Motion, created this program to help BlackBerry phone users with peripheral functions, like backing data or using the device as a modem. Before you can start using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, you must install in onto your computer using the Microsoft Vista Installation Wizard.

Turn on your computer and wait for it to finish booting up. Insert the BlackBerry Desktop Manager installation CD into your CD/DVD drive.

Open the program if the Microsoft Vista Installation Wizard doesn't start on its own. Go to Start>Computer>DVD/RW.

Choose the language that you want the BlackBerry Desktop Manager to function with. Click "OK." Click "Yes" on the next screen to accept the licensing agreement

Type in your user name and company name on the next screen. Click "Next." Choose the BlackBerry email options that you use on your phone and click "Next."

Choose a destination file for the BlackBerry Desktop Manager program files. Click "Next." Decide if you want to have a desktop shortcut to this program and if you want it on all the Microsoft Vista users' desktops. Click "Next" when you are done.

Click "Finish" to allow the installation process to complete.
