Is there an app like blackberry messenger that will work between an iPhone and a blackberry?

My friend has an iPhone. I have a blackberry. I want to be able to send images and sound files instantly to an iPhone the way BB messenger allows me to do with other BB users.

Do you have Myspace, facebook, or, Yahoo instant message. There is also push email. My son and I use that.
